Animated Short film project

Everything is going swimmingly on my current semester project – an animated short film. It is about a woman who becomes obsessed with ordering tacky knickknacks (“Cugatins”) from the tv.

I just finished knitting my first sweater! The pattern is Que Sera by Kirsten Kapur.

Korea

On September 9-12 I was given the opportunity to go to Seoul, South Korea for the International Conference in Computer Entertainment (ICEC) with a bunch of my classmates to present some project work we’ve been working on. My teammates from my summer internship and I presented the game we finished. It’s a racing game that children (age 6-9) and parents can play together, called Electric Racer. It was sponsored by Sesame Workshop and the Electric Company (and is themed around the newly returned Electric Company tv show). The game will be downloadable (for free!) on pbskids.org/electriccompany later this year.

Korea is the most out of my language comfort zone I’ve ever been, it was definitely a new and memorable experience. Below are some pictures. Don’t mind the gloom…. it rained the entire time. Seriously, the ENTIRE time.

Also I will try to be better about this blogging thing….

In related news, I just returned from SIGGRAPH in LA, which was an amazing time, but far more technical than I had expected it to be, when compared to GDC. I learned a lot, and became even more aware of how far I have to go.

Below is our 3-minute video for the semester project. A huge update to the i3 project page is due, which I’ll be able to get to within a week or so. Carnival was one of the most stressful, grueling, and rewarding times I have ever went through. I’m so grateful I had this opportunity to work with this amazing group of people.
